Shawl Weaving Artisan - Wet Processing
Practice bleaching process on wool, jute
Objectives : At the end of this exercise you shall be able to
• bleaching on wool and jute.
Requirements
Tools/Equipment’s/Instruments
• Gas stove - 1 No. • Glass /metal stirring rods - 1 No.
• Stainless steel beaker - 1 No. • Rubber gloves (disposable) - 1 Set.
• Acetic acid - as reqd. Materials
• Hydrogen peroxide - as reqd. • Wool, jute fiber - as reqd.
• Lab thermometer - 1 No.
PROCEDURE
TASK 1: Bleaching on wool
Refer Ex No - 1.6.54 - TASK 1
TASK 2: Bleaching on jute
1 Soak jute fibers in cold water for 2-3 hours to 4 Rinse the jute fiber, then wash with mild detergent.

5 Add the acetic acid(1-2%) with water in a beaker and
